Mother's Day with Rozalia Russian & Rhiannon Abrahams

How are you celebrating Mother’s Day this year?
This year's Mother's Day will be spent at home with my own mum, grandma and mother in law. Kingston is still so little so it's much easier to celebrate special occasions in the comfort of our own home.

What does it mean to be a mum to you?

Being a mum means everything to me. It is the most amazing yet also the most terrifying experience I have ever gone through. I am grateful every day to be lucky enough to be a mum. However I also worry every day and question whether I am doing a good enough job at being their mum. I still can't believe I created two little humans. I definitely appreciated life more since becoming a mum.

What’s the most valuable piece of advice you’ve ever had from your mum?

Something that my mum would always tell me was that a happy mum equaled to a happy child. It is so important to still look after yourself mentally and physically because if you can't look after yourself then it makes it hard to look after your child. Babies and children feel your energy and your mood so I always make sure I am calm when I am around my kids. the last thing I want is for them to be anxious or upset because I am stressed out or in a bad mood.

What have you learnt since becoming a mum?

Ever since becoming a mum I really have learnt to appreciate life and not take the little things for granted. Children are always so happy and innocent and to see the world again through their eyes makes me take a step back and really focus on what's important in life. I don't stress about things that I used to stress over. The only thing that is  important to me is having a happy and healthy family. Everything else that comes my way is a bonus.

How are you celebrating Mother’s Day this year?
This year I'm celebrating with breakfast at my mums, then I'm actually working (have to support my bubba on the way!) Then a nice dinner with my mother in law.

What are you looking forward to most about Motherhood?

I'm looking forward to that moment I set eyes on my little one, I know i will never have felt a love I will feel when i see him or her, I already feel so much love for our baby.

What’s the most valuable piece of advice you’ve ever had from your mum?

My mum always told me to just be me and not worry about anyone else
I think this is so important and it's definitely a great piece of advice I'll i'll give my own baby.
